Is your bank account crying after a weekend of Festival partying?

Dance festivals and events are a great place to spend our hard earned money – but if you can save on the total cost, you might not be crying until you get your next paycheck.

Let’s go over a few ways we can save money for our fun-filled festivals.

Early Bird

“Early bird gets the worm” applies to many things in life. One of these is festival passes.

Early Bird tickets are the cheapest you can get your passes unless the events sells the Believer’s Pass. Thought both are incredibly affordable, the monetary difference between these two passes can range from about $25 and more. Also, Believer’s Passes are usually advertised ONLY at the event on the last day until sold out for next year’s event while Early Bird passes are sold before the first tier of tickets for the current year’s event.

Buddy Passes

There are different kinds of Buddy Passes but all of them will give you a cheaper rate than if you were buying an individual pass for yourself.

Some examples of buddy passes are Bro Passes, Couple Passes, and Group Passes.

WARNING: Bro Passes are usually sex specific and NOT gender specific NOR role specific. Your purchased pass may be cancelled without reimbursement and you will have to purchase a different pass depending on the event and/or organizer.

Resale

Whether you are buying or selling a pass, reselling a pass is a great way to save money at festivals.

If you are buying a pass from someone, they are usually selling it at the price that they had purchased it for or less than the current price of the event. You may have to cover the transfer fee but in most cases, it is cheaper than buying from the event link.

Make sure that you are a buying from someone you trust or have the organizer verify that the seller has a legitimate ticket.

If you can’t attend the event, don’t just eat the cost of the ticket that you paid for; Sell it! You can either sell your ticket and lose less, come out even, or possibly make money off it.

Volunteer

Money ain’t the only way to pay and that’s ok!

Events are almost always looking for extra help and are willing to recruit YOU as a volunteer in exchange for access to an event.

All organizations and events will have different volunteer agreements so make sure you are aware of what you are signing up for before agreeing to terms.

Here are some examples:

Fun Things

Play and win!

What am I talking about? Raffles and competitions, of course!

Raffles are the easiest way to win a pass to an event. A lot of local socials promote big events and will have event passes as a raffle prize. Usually your raffle entry is covered just by paying the cover for the night so all you have to do is go out like you normally do and wait for luck to bestow the gift of a free event pass.

Other times it’ll be a Guessing Game or Random Winner. It’s literally all fun and games and you can be a winner.

Speaking of winners and passes, did you know that many competitions offer event passes as prizes? Whether it’s a J’n’J, Pro/Am, or different kind of competition, a prize can be a pass amongst many other goodies.

Go ahead and put yourself out there – you have a lot to win when you participate!
